Hello!!

Oh *lost in thoughts*

Coming back-

Yeah, I admit it, I have been somewhat indolent with my reading updates. I was not really getting any fantasy books to read. And about the book which i have already read, I was too BUSY to write reviews and recommendations on them. But anyways, now presenting you the best books of 2021 (which I've read): some wrap-ups and current reads.

P.S. These are spoiler-free reviews, so I won't be writing the exact plot of the book.

1. Cosmic Queries

Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This book basically aims to answer many of the questions related to the cosmos and the universe, infact, beyond the universe. The author's way of writing makes difficult concepts to understand with ease. This book filled my mind with many awesome facts related to astrophysics (which I loved the most)

Whoever loves the National Geographic StarTalk with Neil deGrasse Tyson, this is a must-read book for them.

2. Petals on the Ganga

Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love all the Ruskin Bond books, but this was somewhat special. This book is a compilation of 24 stories, (not exactly stories, memoirs) and is the best thing Ruskin Bond can offer you. Written in a simple language, this book has the power to make us imagine we are standing in the mesmerizing trees and mountains of Dehra. If you haven't read any of his books, this is the best to get started with. I would recommend you to read this book only if you want to read something easy-peasy.

3. The Ickabog

Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

J.K. Rowling never fails to influence us through her stories. The Ickabog was written in fits and starts between the Harry Potter series. She would read out these stories to her kids. Amid the lockdown in 2020, she thought to release this book online, one chapter per week on her official website. And, it turned out to be huge success. The story focuses on the lives of residents of Marshland, who were famous for their tales of Monster. How the King protects his kingdom from this monster, is what you need to read and discover, and write in the comments!

This is a quick-read, took a couple of days for me to read cause you just can't put the book down once you pick it up.

4. Totto Chan

Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Every single line of the story made me feel as if I was watching the story of naughty little Totto in front of my eyes. This is a semi-autobiographical story, revolving around the times of World War II. Totto Chan was dropped out of her previous school after which she joined a new school. The book gives accounts of Totto's experience in the new school. The end is quite tragic. This book is sorted as a classic, thus has the ability to improve your vocabulary (very much).

Current Reads

I'm a total fiction freak!😅

I know, it is not gonna help me much, other than increasing my creativity level. I should read some non-fictions too.

And currently I'm reading Front Desk, story of a little girls whose family is immigrating from China to America. The book is filled with the blunders she does in order to help her family.

TBR

Now I'm gonna get serious about reading Non-Fictions. So here is the list (which includes some fictions too :)

Few Autobiographies:

  1. Wings of Fire - Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

  2. Rich Dad Poor Dad - Robert T. Kiyosaki

  3. Long Walk to Freedom - Nelson Mandela

Fiction:

  1. A Christmas Carol

Also, I'm planning to read some classics like William Shakespeare, Jane Austen and Agatha Christie. Any recommendation? (comment)

So that's all....see you soon....byeeee!
